The West Usk Lighthouse is 182 years old and is grade 2 listed. It is unique among lighthouses, round and squat. All rooms are wedged shaped, and the bedrooms are en-suite, one with a waterbed and others with 4-poster beds. The entrance hall is slate bedded and there is a stone spiral staircase in the middle. The lamproom was recently reburbished by Five TV company in the "Hotel Inspector".
Most people come for a romantic break. There's a hot tub on the roof, barbecue facilities, an infra red sauna, floatation tank and other complentary therapies. It is really relaxing and a place where it is easy to sleep and recover from hectic lives.
For that special occasion, champagne in the room, fruit basket, wine, chocolate and flowers can be provided, plus a trip by a Silver Spirit Rolls Royce to the local restaurant. Many marriage proposals have been made and accepted at the lighthouse, even a couple of wedding receptions have been held here.
